Affordable university education
Public universities in Germany offer many programmes with no tuition fees, while Austria offers relatively affordable public university options.
You’ll still need to budget for living expenses, insurance and other costs, and that total is still comparable to tuition fee at some private universities in Malaysia!
Gain experience while you study
Work part-time in the same field as what you’re studying and intern at a reputable company.
It’s your chance to gain experience, build your network and understand the European working environment.
And of course, the extra income is a nice bonus too. It can help with your living expenses.
Further your studies or start your career in Europe
Study your Master’s degree for zero or a nominal fee, or choose to start your career in Germany or Austria.
After graduation, you can stay for up to 12 months in Austria or 18 months in Germany to look for a job. Being fluent in German will give you an added advantage.
Is Germany or Austria really affordable?
You’ll need to budget for:
- Pre-university (to meet the academic requirement)
- Preparation programme (to help you meet the language requirement and transition to living and studying in Germany and Austria)
- Living expenses
The big difference is that you may not have to pay the high tuition fees commonly associated with studying overseas.

Whether your qualification is accepted depends on where you want to study and the university or programme you are applying to.
